Chiropody & Podiatry

Chiropody and/or Podiatry is the name given to the study, diagnosis and treatment of conditions and disorders of the foot, ankle and lower limb. Podiatry is simply a modern term for Chiropody.

The healthcare professional who specialises in this is known as a Chiropodist or Podiatrist.

There is no difference between a Chiropodist and a Podiatrist.

They are both interchangeable and legally protected titles.

To use either title a Chiropodist or Podiatrist must be registered with the HCPC, the Health and Care Professions Council.
